CAN 2009 info...

Coaches,
If you are receiving this email, welcome to the 2009 CAN Volleyball Season. We have 20 teams in the Recreational League and 9 teams in the Competitive League which is two (total) less than last year but considering the season was moved to Chantilly this is positive interest. Thank you all for sticking with it. We hope you will find the Hoop Magic facility satisfactory and the commute manageable.
The mandatory pre-season coaches meeting will be held at Hoop Magic Sports Academy on Tuesday 12/16. The meeting will start at 8:00pm (or as soon as the Basketball meeting is over). Each team must have a coach or representative present. Failure to attend will result in one strike against the chapter. If you get lost/have issues that will delay/prevent attendance, please contact Nick or Jeff listed below.

12/31 Payment balance due
1/11 Season Begins (no games on Superbowl Sunday)

The website will be updated prior to the coaches meeting to include volleyball waiver, roster template, directions/link to game sites, other important info.
8-game season will be played between 2:00pm and 8:00pm on Sundays.4 division games and 4 non-division. I will be making the schedule this weekend in hopes of having it to you by the meeting on Tuesday.

So 2009 season is fast approaching. I have some initial information for everyone to see:

Timeline:

• 11/14 Application available.
• 12/3 Applications/$200 Deposit due
• 12/8 Teams/Divisions announced
• 12/16 Mandatory Coaches Meeting at Hoop Magic (8:00pm)
• 12/30 Registration fees due
• 1/9 Initial Rosters due
• 1/11 Season begins

Initial Posting

Hey all,
I would like to use this blog to post info for you all. I would also like you to use this to ask any questions, post any activites, etc. There are many different skill level players on the 2 teams, and this is a place to ask anyone questions about volleyball, the rules, ect. and a place for people to answer them.
I hope you all use this blog to communicte with each other.

I will be adding a place to the site closer to the season, where you will be able to let us know if you will be attending that weeks games. I will set up a page with checkboxes under headers for each weeks games. If you are coming, you'll check the box. If not, leave it blank. I am still deciding about it, but for now that is the plan.
